Our History & Founders

Advent Real Estate Services Ltd. and VADA Property Management.

2000

Michelle Farina completes her Rental Property Management License, becoming a Licensed Property Manager while working for a local Developer’s Property Management company.

2005

After working for a few years as a successful Property Manager, Michelle completes her Broker’s and Trading License. Seeing a need to improve the way Property Management is done, Michelle begins to envision a Brokerage specializing in Rental Management, specifically the secondary market, single family homes and condo rentals.

2006

In June of this year Advent Real Estate Services Ltd. opens its doors.

2008

As Advent’s portfolio grew Michelle had less time to dedicate to Marketing and brought in her Partner, Neil McGuinness, who had worked part time on Advent’s digital marketing since Advent’s inception in 2006. Neil left his full-time job to support, promote, and dedicate his time and efforts to building Advent’s Brand and making the phone ring!

2009

After 3 years of working out of shared office space it was time to move to our own office. Andrea Farina, Michelle’s sister, with her abundant administrative skills and technology background was tasked with organizing Advent’s office. What started as temporary assistance turned into a Partnership, making Advent a truly Family Owned and Operated company.

2014

Being constantly disappointed in the Property Management software on the market, Michelle and Andrea conceived and designed a proprietary software that manages our Properties’, Tenants’ and Clients’ needs on a day-to-day basis. Tracking rents, work orders, inspections, leases, and statements of accounts for every tenant and client. After years of struggling to manage the many details involved, Michelle and Andrea worked directly with a Software Developer to create a management system that works for Advent that is also flexible enough to update things as needed.

2015-2020

The next five (5) years were spent working hard, building our Rental Management portfolio to over 1000 doors. We are proud of our achievement and our dedicated team of professionals who support our clients each and every day!

2020

COVID changed things for everyone, and we were no different. With vacations canceled and working from home being the new norm, it was the perfect time to expand Advent’s service offerings. As the Rental Market changes in BC with more developer’s building Rental buildings over Condo buildings we knew we wanted to be a part of these changes. It was then that VADA Property Management was formed.

2021

VADA Property Management opened its doors. We formed a leasing team, and adopted the Marketing, Administrative and Accounting teams from Advent.

We launched our first lease up project under the VADA brand – a brand new Multi-family rental building in North Vancouver which was a great success – 75% leased for Occupancy!

All systems, policies and procedures from Advent Real Estate Services Ltd. are adopted to assist in the growth of our company.

We employ a Senior Property Manager with decades of experience in Rental Project Leasing, and Residential and Commercial, Leasing and Management.

2024

We continue to grow our Property Management team, and both the ADVENT and VADA brands, and create a new standard of service in the Multi-family Residential and Commercial Property Management industry.

As founder of VADA Property Management and founder of our sister company, Advent Real Estate Services Ltd, in Vancouver, BC, Michelle provides strong leadership based on decades of knowledge and experience in rental and tenancy management, lease-up project management, hiring and managing leasing teams, and working with marketing and branding professionals.

Michelle has an in depth understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act, including arbitration hearings, which has resulted in better outcomes for Landlords. Building positive tenant relationships is also a core focus of Michelle’s approach to success in Property Management.

Michelle has created a supportive environment for the personal growth of our entire team, and will position your project ahead of the competition!

NEIL MCGUINNESS

VP MARKETING

Neil McGuinness is co-founder of VADA Property Management and co-founder of our sister company, Advent Real Estate Services Ltd, in Vancouver, BC. With over 16 years experience marketing rental assets, and supporting Property Management teams, his skills are very well rounded.

Neil is well versed in all categories of digital marketing! Specializing in brand creation, brand management, web development, creative design, social media management, search engine marketing and search engine optimization.

Neil also has extensive experience designing and developing Property Management Portal Platforms, allowing Landlords to access real time information on their assets, and CRM Platforms, giving staff a streamlined and efficient system to manage all relationships and interactions with customers.

With his attention to detail and dedication to meticulous presentation, your marketing needs are in good hands!
